Closing the year with connection

Closing the year with connection

Dear Leaders,

The end of the year always feels a little special to me. I love taking a step back, reflecting on the impact of the past months and reading messages from my clients. They always remind me why I do this work.

I invite you to take a moment for your own leadership journey: just 5 minutes for The Inspiring Leadership Challenge!

And while you’re at it, don’t forget to rest, recharge and learn. I’m kicking off this edition by sharing my holiday reading list.

This month’s nugget

The books I’m taking with me this Christmas

A book to rest my mind

This year, I’m giving my brain a real break with Iain Levison.

If you don’t know him yet, he’s one of those authors who manages to be sharp, funny and deeply human all at once. I love how he captures the absurdity of everyday life with a dry humour that makes you smile… and sometimes wince a little.

A book to keep growing for my clients

I’m also packing “Manuel pratique du Karpman Process Model” by Jérôme Lefèvre.

If you’ve worked with me, you know how much I value the Process Communication Model® (PCM). It’s one of my favourite tools to help us understand ourselves better so we can collaborate better, especially under stress and when conflicts start to escalate. I cannot wait to delve into Jérôme’s work to increase my knowledge and expertise to help my clients improve conversations, leadership habits and team dynamics.

Leadership nudge

The Inspiring Leadership Challenge!

Since the launch of The Laughing Willow, I’ve been reflecting on how to give back, and how to share the stories of the incredible leaders who have inspired me throughout my journey, hoping they may inspire you too.

From that reflection, I created Inspiring Connections: a monthly moment to nurture the authentic, curious, and empowering leader within you. At the beginning of each month, I share small nuggets, practical nudges and notes from inspiring leaders I’ve met along the way.

I feel grateful to share this with you and to bring us together. Thank you for taking the time to read Inspiring Connections, for your messages and our conversations.

Today, I invite you to take 2 minutes. Just a pause.

Think about your own journey of leadership.

How many people have walked beside you, from childhood to today? Who encouraged you, opened a door, believed in you, or simply made you feel safe to grow?

Who are the people who have done you good? And if you were to send them a message now, what would you say?

That is my question for you this month.

Here’s the challenge:

1. Identify one or several leaders who have inspired you or helped you grow.
2. Share Inspiring Connections with them through this link.Tell them why they came to mind.
3. Win:
If they subscribe, you’ll be entered into a draw to win:

  • 1 complementary co-development session, plus
  • 1 additional individual coaching session
(Yes, it’s almost the Festive Season and you deserve a meaningful gift…)

Notes From Inspiring Leaders

If I ever had any doubts, moments like this remind me exactly why I do this work.

I opened my mailbox recently and found a beautiful surprise: heartfelt messages from one of the groups in my program.

This year, I’ve had many moments like these and they fill me with deep gratitude.

Wishing you a wonderful end of the year.
