A recognised talent within an international group specialising in defense and security systems has recently taken on a new executive role in a strategic geographic area.

While his technical and operational performance was widely recognised, this new position required a change of posture: moving from the role of a recognised expert to that of an influential leader capable of navigating a complex, international organisational environment.

The first few months have highlighted several critical challenges:

  • The need to widen your circle of influence beyond your direct perimeter
  • Frequent interactions with high-level peers and stakeholders requiring greater strategic alignment
  • A strong expectation of visionary leadership and clear communication with management bodies
  • A team to support towards greater autonomy and strategic alignment
